Sam Thompson Lodge #456 was chartered on December 7th, 1887 by the Grand Lodge of F. & A.M. of Alabama. The Lodge has been located in Morris, Alabama since receiving its charter. The first Lodge building was located west of the old railroad tracks near the current Morris City Hall. It is believed the selection of our Lodge name was influenced by the first Master of the Lodge, Benjamin Sharrett, who was a member of Farrar Lodge #8 with Sam Thompson. Benjamin Sharrett, most likely recommended honoring the Past Deputy Grand Master by naming the Lodge after him.

Sam Thompson becomes a Free Mason and joins Farrar Lodge #8 in Elyton, Alabama.
Sam Thompson serves as the Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge F. & A.M. of Alabama.
Charter for Sam Thompson Lodge approved by Grand Lodge F. & A.M. of Alabama.
Sam Thompson passes away.
Original building is torn down. Meetings are held in Warrior while awaiting construction of new building.
Current building is completed and is still used today.
